Okay, I didn't really get ATC's (Artist Trading Cards), bit like me not "getting" Blogger, and in all honesty I still don't get them, but I thought I'd give it a go, when it was one of the Ditzycraftymess daily Challenges on FB.
So here's my entry....
Firstly the challenge rules were, stamp a Floral image, cut it out and make it into a card, I am desperately trying to remember, as I did this just before my back went,AGAIN, and I had a couple of days not crafting. But I think that was the gist of it!
So I looked for a floral stamp in my stash, and found a tiny bunch of flowers, it was one of my "Bargain Buys" a set of 50 wood mounted stamps in a wooden box, that I got from Aston Trading on Amazon, but I have no idea who they were by as it didnt say.
So a black Ink it up stamp pad, and stamped onto some Clarity Card. Then I wanted some sort of background, so out came a tiny musical score stamp, by Kanban, and I stamped with Versamark after masking the design off. So far so Good. Out came the Brayer with the Big and Juicy Spice pad.
Next up was colouring the stamp in, I used Aqua Markers, and a water brush, okay remember the challenge........"stamp a Floral image, cut it out and make it into a card." Well I hadn't cut it out had I? DOH!
so out came the craft knife, some incredibly careful cutting later I was able to remove the image, phew!
I was now left with a lovely background, a white circle, gaping hole and a tiny bunch of flowers! What on earth was I supposed to do with that little lot? Inspiration struck, and I rummaged for some bronze Mirri board, and a bronze colour mica powder. So mount the background to the mirri using some foam pads, use a versa mark pen on the white area's of the centre of the Stamped circle and apply Mica powder, then carefully apply some DST to the back of the bunch of flowers and drop it through the hole in the card.
Ha!!! I did catch the mica slightly with a finger nail, and it transferred to the background, so I had to use a bow in bronze ribbon to cover it up, but all in all I was quite pleased with it.
Okay I am pleased with it, but I still don't get ATC's I'm afraid! Apart from the fact that they are tiny, and hard work, that's about it........I didn't get what I wanted from doing one, as I wanted to know what all this fuss about ATC's was, and it has passed me by, as I still haven't "got" it even though I did one! Sorry, for you that love them, I just don't "get" them!
Have fun, xx and don't forget the candy on the home page, loads more is in the box, and I'm not saying any more.....

Card and paper crafting keeps me sane! But this is now mainly a Vlog, due to Eyesight issues. Please feel free to use my designs for inspiration Purposes, but do not Directly copy, or pass my work off as your own. I would rather inspire, than be "flattered" by copying, xx
