new challenge over at Krafty Hands.

morning, well I'm a couple of hours late, sigh, its called having a 16yr old border Collie, who has come into season, and 2 (2yr old tomorrow) male rotties................................................yep........................

anyway a quick post as I need to get a move one here, got samples to make for the next Kraftyhands show, and going over to the Leigh fair tomorrow, and I want to take 1 sample with me, so I really need to move as this is my "statement piece" I want to finish, then the others wont take long. so to business:

on the first saturday of every month Kraftyhands run a challenge on their challenge blog. This month the challenge is Shades of Blue.
now you can enter using anyones products, but then you can only achieve a top 3 place, BUT if you use some Kraftyhands artwork, then you stand to be in with a chance of winning a voucher against some physical goodies in their online shop, they dont do digi's, so a tangible reward!
You may not realise who Kraftyhands are, but if you live in the UK and have attended any craft show within the last 5 yrs, chances are you have picked up something of theirs. Also they are now on Create and Craft, and the disks and paper kits are going down a storm!
So you probably have something you can use to enter to win the voucher, so why not have a go?
here's my entry:
This is from the Garden Steps CD, a cd full of , yes you guessed it, stepper cards with a garden theme!

Its a lovely little cd, very springlike!
So mine was printer onto white cardstock, I rarely use paper, then mounted onto some silver mirri to lift it, then onto a nice navy cardstock base. And made the stepper card from there. The butterfly, one of the embellishments  was cut out, glittered and glazed and mounted onto some acetate and stuck inside the top of the folded card base. Cut out the stepper decorations, glaze each of the flowers, and glitter the tiny butterflies, add the sentiment and a lovely card is done and dusted.
right Hi-ho hi-ho its off to work I go,

catch you later, xxx

I'm late I'm late..........

grr, this should have posted itself yesterday, apologies!

Here's a card I made for Easter as part of my Kraftyhands responsibilites.

Actually this card caused me some issues! As you maybe aware I have been fiddling with cutting files lately, and I had this idea for this card, a double gatefold, latticed oval, with the main image inside......................

Yeah Right!

I had everything cut and preped, just ready to stick it all together, and what happened? I got left with this!

Not that Im complaining, as its still nice, but it just didnt seem to fit with the stuff I had planned, ho-hum!
This is from the fabulous Floral Fantasy cd. the colours are beautiful, clean and spring like, a lovely cd.

Right by this time, I should be tucking into my Eggs Benedict, Have a wonderful and relaxing Easter everyone, xxx

A Hint......

Hi guys I have been really quiet havent I?

well here's a hint of why I have been so quiet..........................

".............................Optional software:

Svg viewer: These can be now be viewed without opening the files using a plug-in program: SVG Viewer gnu. Available here  as a free application, which makes life a lot easier for those who have lots of svgs! Once installed you will be able to see the svgs on your computer as actual images, instead of a blank piece of paper. Change the view for the folders to medium icons to see the images.

What is this “Make the Cut” program?
Make the Cut is a software program which currently allows you to cut with all these machines :
Works with all Klic-N-Kut™ models
Works with the Pazzles Inspiration™
Works with BossKut Gazelle™
Works with Black Cat Cougar/Lynx™ series
Works with USCutter™ MH/LaserPoint series
Works with CraftWell's eCraft™
Works with Silhouette SD™ and Cameo™ including Print and Cut!
Supports HPGL machines with printer support (Craft ROBO™, Wishblade™, etc)

Although it is a software program you pay separately for its worth considering if you are upgrading to a new or different machine. It is able to use almost all of the current file systems even if it wasn’t in a format designed for that specific machine, example: You had a Craft Robo and now you have upgraded to an E-craft and want to cut your favourite Graphtec GSD file on the E-craft ( The E-craft uses SVG files and other than using Make the Cut, you wont be able to cut a GSD file without first converting it to an SVG).
The only files it cannot convert are the .studio files, .crw files for the E-craft, and Provocraft's own files systems.
You can take a picture (.jpeg or .pdf), and you will be able to import the picture into MTC and convert it to a file it will cut with.

Using Make the Cut expands the library of available images you can work with, and worth is considering as there are a multitude of free cutting files available via the internet. In addition you can run two or more different machines and access all file formats, and cut from one base software program instead of having to switch from one program to the other, so you CAN cut your GSD file from your A4 Craft Robo on the E-craft at 12x12” without phaffing around having to convert it!

In practice those who are familiar with the Silhouette studio, and Craft Robo programs will find it very similar, while those who have the E-craft will find that there is a lot more that they can do and expand the use of their machine.
Make the Cut can be downloaded as a free trial, here. This does not commit you to buying the program. It will allow you to play and import files, however if you try to cut using the unregistered version it will cut a big X across your design. It is intended to let you try before you buy, so you have an idea of what to expect.
If you wish to go ahead and purchase the program please use this link:

Please remember that files of any type are the intellectual property of the person that created them. Breach of Copyright is not fair to the creator who spent their time and imagination creating the files for you to work with."

mmmn intriquing!

I didnt have much time to work on it, it was a bit of a rush job, and I had to take these photo's on my phone, as I was quickly throwing them in the box for posting, so they arent the best photo's by any stretch of the imagination.

But You can see them in proper lighting today at 1pm and 6pm on Create and Craft! So remember to tune in for a look-see and to grab your copy of the Gorgeous Kew disk!

wow a post from Me

well this is unusal isnt it? lol
In all honesty I am being really creative, but the proceeds of my creativity are supposed to be being photographer by darling Daughter, as she bags and envelopes the cards, lol, Yep, she hasnt done the photo's yet!
so in the meantime, here's a card I created using some of the card kits from the last Krafty Hands show on Create and Craft:
apologies, but the camera batteries are on charge, sigh, so this was taken on my mobile, sigh!
This is using a topper and sheet of backing card from the Vintage kit, some Ivory ribbon, and 3 pins, mounted on Kraft card, and with 3 Cosmic shimmer Pearls to finish, quick, simple, and lovely!

Hope you will tune in to create and Craft next week on Tuesday to catch the new CD, its an absolute corker! Its the best one the boys have done yet, and then you'll see why I'm not posting much at the moment, lol

hugs to all who pop by, xxx

Krafty Hands Challenge

Hi guys

well I know I havent posted much, I am waiting for my darling daughter to get snap happy, as she has what I have been working on, quietly, but you want to see this months card for Krafty Hands dont you? So here you go:

Now this is from one of the older cds by Krafty Hands, this is from the Mary Englebright collection. Its a beautiful cd of old fashioned images, very 50's / 60's to my mind, reminds me of the Peter and Jane books, lol
So this is an 8x8 base card, matching backing paper from the cd, matted onto some pink card stock, for some reason the colour in the photo is more Salmony pink, than the pink pink of reality!
I got some wide reals of lace from Hobby Craft awhile ago, and to fit this months challenge, I had to use a sketch, so out came a roll of white lace, glued and glittered and cut to points and mounted behind the main image, which again was matted onto a backing paper and then the pink card.
The main image was treated with some glitter and crystal accents on the handbag, and a hole punched for the ribbon on the tag.
Finally I made a rossette with some more backing paper, added the pearls and job done,

Honestly it isnt really this salmon pink! Its a nice Pink!

so to win a voucher to spend on the Krafty Hands webshop, you need to firstly follow the main challenge blog, secondly enter the blog challenge, which you can find on the main page, and use a Krafty Hands Product! Now I happen to know that there are thousands of you out there who have Krafty Hands CD's, so whats stopping you from having a go?

Well todays the day, so one more post after this as a reminder, then silence from me for a while, phew!
My last offering is a hybrid craft:
The box was a plain Kraft Papermania box, until I attacked it with my Krafty Hands Billowing Silk papers, and some kids paints from Tesco's, sorry, but I like the colours!
so dont forget the shows today at 1pm and 6pm, on Create and Craft.

Vintage Treasures 11

Hehe, got a lot done from my assigned sets havent I?

next up is a bit different..............

This has come from the cd, but requires some imagination!

The longer beads are made with papers from the cd, and then glazed with Holtzers Crystal Accents, the smaller beads, as I aint that good, are Lapis beads.
So there you go something differnt!

Dont forget the Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm, and get supplies from here, and inspiration via the blog, here

Vintage Treasures 10

Wow 10 posts from the few sheets I printed off? That's a LOT!

So next offering:

This is from my main Card sheet. The Boys at KH do give loads for the money, so lets try and describe my main card offering.................
In each card set as it were you get 2 pages, one is mats and layers and embellishments, the other is the topper and alternate images. So an easel card, matted and layered as given by the boys, the main image has been Tim Holtz'd with Crackle glaze, there's beads on wires overlaying the design by the boys, theres Faux Pearls imitating the beads provided in the design, liberal application of faux pearl beads around the frame, the Stopper is mounted onto some laxe trim I had lying around, and the base card underneath has lightly been distressed with Vintage photo.
Dont forget the Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm, and supplies are here, and inspiration can be reached from here,

Vintage Treasures 5

Well Back again, One week until the Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm.
So here's another one for you.............
This a sweet little easel. Again a 3 3/4" square card base, backing papers from the Cd, Topper and Matt, and as a stopper a small section of one of the tiled lace papers, you'll see in more detail on the show, but they are fab for doing things like tiles, corners, etc,
Again I used the Pinflair Pearl wand for the faux pearls, and would you believe that the blue ones on the bottom, and the orange ones round the image came from the same tube? Because they did, which reminds me I need to order more!

Have fun, dont forget the Webshop, and the inspiration from my Teamies

Vintage Treasures 4

Okay seven more day to go until the show on Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm, so lets cut to what I have been doing.......

This is one of my Favourites! The stuff you need is hidden away on the cd, so you will have to go find it, its full of scrummy Yummy ness.
I printed 3 of the toppers off, and used 2 of the prints to decoupage the Fan up, carefully trimming with a knife, then scoring and glazing with Holographic embossing powder.
This time its on an 8x8" card base, the paper was printed from the cd, and the inside is covered with a handmade paper. The addition of a few pearls, and I really like this card, hope you do too,

Dont forget to pop to the webshop for supplies and visit my Teamies for more inspiration

Vintage Treasures 3

Well another of the offerings from my latest bout of sample making:
Again you can see more on the Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm.

This was a scrummy image to work with, so sweet. again one of my 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" base cards, backing paper from the cd, and the topper and its matching layer. I also added some lace trim from the embellishment section of the cd, and finished it with a couple of Cosmic Shimmer faux Pearls.
Check out the webshop for supplies, and dont forget to drop in on my Teamies for more inspiration.

Vintage Treasures 2

Well another one from me:

You can see all these samples and more on the Create & Craft show on Tuesday February 19th at 1pm and 6pm,

so my offering for now.................

Dont forget Mike and Ian do toppers and matching layers for the toppers, and this is a small 3 3/4" square card base, with ribbon, and some lace. The pearls were made using Pinflairs Pearl wand, for some reason it seems to absorb the colour slightly of what it is placed on so is always a perfect match.
Dont forget to check out the webshop, and my teamies for more inspiration,

hugs Lou

Vintage treasures,

Hi guys,

Well here's some of the reasons I seem to blog in spats just lately: Currently I have been working on samples for the Boys at Krafty Hands, for their new disk, Vintage Treasures, on Create and Craft at 1 and 6 pm Tuesday 19th Feb.

So now I can give you some sneaky peaks,

Each of my posts are going to be short, but do remember that I only worked on a few sheets from the CD, there is loads more to see, and you need to visit my Teamies to see more examples.

This is one of the extra toppers from my Card Set, cut into 9 small squares glazed with embossing powder, and mounted on some scrunched up brown paper. Then I just added some ribbon to frame it.

Krafty Hands Challenge

Hi there,

Hope you've been well, I bin busy, loads of stuff I cant show yet, which is par for the course for me, sigh!
Anyway First Saturday of the month, and a New Challenge over at Krafty Hands.........Spring Colours!
Okay I know Spring seems ages away, but I took Youngest for an Interview this week, and they had Daff's in a vase on the table! So it cant be that far away.
So Yellow, Green and Orange are the Challenge for this month!
Firstly: The Rules:

Anyone can enter our monthly challenges, the only criteria we have is that you must be a follower of our challenge blog, we know that taking part is 99.9% of the fun!

To be the monthly winner of the £20 Kraftyhands voucher, you must use at least oneKraftyhands product in the creation of your challenge project.

That's as complicated as it gets!

Each month we choose 3 winners, the No1 winner will receive a £20 voucher (if they've used a Kraftyhands product) to spend on the Kraftyhands webshop and the No1 winner's "blinkie", the other two winners will get a winner's "blinkie" for their blogs!

So my card:
Now People lately have been turning Easel cards on their sides, and having done it, I'm not too sure...............

Mine is a simple card this month, nothing fiddly or phaffily, simple, and more or less as it came from the CD, Daisy Farm.
The Decoupage was printed onto glossy photo card, then mounted onto some orange base card.
Papers were printed onto some Supersmooth and used to Matt onto the base Burnt Orange card stock.
The paper Ribbons and sentiment were printed onto plain card stock, and Matted into position.
The button under the sentiment, was punched and then glazed with crystal accents, as was the Tiny Cow Head under the main image.
Then add some glitter and gems, and a very simple card, quick and easy, and Ideal for the new challenge this month, so what will you create?
Dont forget to pop over to the webshop, and grab a cd or two, as only those who use the Krafty Hands Products get the voucher, otherwise its just for fun!

Hugs

Lou

Lacy Sunshine

Hi guys,

well I know I've been quiet, but I have loads of bits in the process so to speak, and here's one thats just finished drying. I deliberately left it long enough, as I have a nasty habit of sticking my finger in Glaze that isnt quite dry and leaving my finger print all over things..............

This is one of the Lovely Heather Valentin range of Digi's, Meet Eleanor. She is supposed to have Pickles with her, but the pen blobbed on him so I had to cut him off, and now the title of this digi doesnt make sense: A Wish come True.
So for Inspiration you need to go Here and to get Eleanor you need to go here.

So to my version of Eleanor: My Eleanor is a dark haired girl, with a Peaches and Cream complexion, and thats always my starting point. But this is a very Fairy Tale image, even without Pickles, so little girl Pink was the chosen colour. Spectrum Noir PL1 BP2 and BP 6. Her Hair is GB 8 GB 10 and EB 5.
Okay so then I had to remove Pickles, and a tip with your Speccies if your finding that they blob: stand the on their chisel tip for a couple of days to allow the ink to drain to the chisel tip end. Normally you wouldnt do that with an alcohol pen, but as these are a bit generously filled you just need to shift the ink out the way a bit, and thats direct from Crafters Companion, coz I was getting frustrated with Poor Pickles!
Right so Back to Eleanor then..... Hmmn without Pickles what do I do, aha!
Birthday.......................... Cake! so rummage through my papers, you know the stack of papers you have lying around, that came either as freebies or you printed off too many? So in there was this Cake Paper! and the colour matched!
But I just knew that I wouldnt have any base card in just that shade! But I did have some white card and the Speccies! so white became Pink, and was matted and layered, add some glaze to her Glasses lens, and some glitter to her dress, print off a sentiment, and then die cut it, and jobs a gud 'un as they say.
so dont forget to grab Eleanor for yourself, from here and remember that Lacy Sunshine ONLY is the ONLY authorised seller of Heather Valentin Digi's, xxx
